Japanese constitution’s 9th article dictates that for peace, the Japanese people resign their rights to wage any war or any other aggressive means of setting an international debate. Because of this, the law dictates that no aerial, marinal or ground military forces can be kept in the country. Countering this, US asked Japan in 1954 to make the Self-Defense Forces, SDF, which today one of the biggest and most modern armies of all.
